Q.What is the difference between engagement rings and wedding rings?
A.

Engagement ring is traditionally a diamond ring given to a woman by a man at the time of a marriage proposal. Wedding rings are exchanged between partners during wedding ceremony.

Q.Does I-PRIMO provide engagement rings and wedding rings as a set?
A.

Yes, we do. We offer a wide range of different styles and designs of engagement and wedding rings that are also perfect as a bridal ring set. Please contact our consultants for more details and recommendations.

Q.Why engagement rings are made with diamonds?
A.

Diamond is a type of natural mineral which represents “pure” and “forever”. The everlasting sparkle of a diamond makes it the first choice for engagement rings, symbolizing “forever love”.

Q.Why platinum is popular for bridal jewelries?
A.

Platinum is the rarest among metals and its durability makes it a perfect symbol for truth, endurance and eternity. These three characteristics and values of platinum are extremely suitable for making bridal jewellery.

①Purity: Platinum’s naturally white sheen enables a diamond to shine on its brightest. Platinum does not tarnish, corrode, rust or change in colour. Jewellery pieces must consist of at least 85% platinum in order to be recognized as platinum jewellery. I-PRIMO uses 95% platinum in all rings, together with the excellent craftsmanship, making rings that are comfortable to wear.

②Rareness: Platinum is an extremely rare and precious metal. It can only found in a few countries in South Africa, where platinum is present as only 3g in 1 ton of raw ore.

③Durability: Platinum is more durable than other metals and therefore is suitable to use for precious jewellery which can be worn for a lifetime. Platinum does not tarnish, corrode, rust and change colour and is suitable for daily wear.

Q.Why do we wear wedding rings on the ring finger on the left hand?
A.

Originated from ancient Egyptian traditions, people believed that a vein ran directly from the ring finger of the left hand to the heart. They chose to wear rings on this finger to express love because of this hand-to-heart connection.

About engagement ring

Q.When should I purchase my engagement ring? How long does it take to make?
A.

Production typically takes six to eight weeks. If you would like to present the ring during your marriage proposal, we suggest you start preparing around two to three months before your intended date. Generally, people prepare their ring around seven months to one year before their wedding day.

Q.Can I propose with a diamond necklace instead of an engagement ring?
A.

Definitely! Some people prefer a necklace to wear on a daily basis instead of an engagement ring for marriage proposal. At I-PRIMO, you may choose a diamond of your choice and have it made into a necklace.

Q.Can I choose an eternity ring as my engagement ring?
A.

Yes, eternity rings are a popular choice as they holdthe meaning of eternity and forever.

Q.What should I look for when choosing a diamond?
A.

You can choose a diamond based on the 4Cs grading, budget and your desired grade. I-PRIMO only offers excellent and brilliant diamonds that are suitable for making jewellery pieces. Select rings which best represents your and your partner's personalities and love story.

Q.What do the 4Cs mean?
A.

The 4Cs (Carat, Colour, Clarity and Cut) are the standard criterias for diamond grading.

Q.What material is the ring band made of? Can I change the material to something else?
A.

We mainly use platinum (Pt950) in our jewellery pieces to enhance the brilliant sparkle of the diamonds, but 18K white, rose or yellow gold are also available if desired.

Q.What should I do if I want to plan surprise proposal to my partner?
A.

If you do not know your partner’s preference or ring size and you find it difficult to casually ask, we will provide you with the support you need. At I-PRIMO, you can confirm the design and size of the engagement ring after proposing. We aim to help customers to propose without any hassle, anxiety or worries. Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to assist and support you on your marriage proposal planning.

Q.Can I have an engagement ring made with diamonds which I already own?
A.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a change in ring settings with the diamonds that you have brought in unless the diamonds purchased are from I-PRIMO.

Q.Do the diamonds from I-PRIMO come with a diamond certificate?
A.

I-PRIMO adopts stringent standards on the quality of diamonds offered. All diamonds over 0.18ct come with a certificate issued by reputable international grading laboratories such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Diamond Grading Laboratory (DGL).

Q.Is it possible to bring home the ring on the very same day?
A.

You may take your ring home the same day if your preferred design and size is available in store. However, if you need to alter the ring size or engrave letters, it may take around six to eight weeks to complete. We would recommend you come and choose your ring early.

About wedding ring

Q.When should I purchase my wedding ring? How long does it take to make?
A.

It basically takes about six to eight weeks for the ring to be made. However, some designs or ring size may an even longer time. We suggest you prepare your wedding rings at least three to four months before the wedding.

Q.Can we choose not to put diamonds on the wedding rings?
A.

Depending on the design, it is possible to make rings without diamonds or you can alter a man’s wedding ring into woman sizes. Please do consult with our staff for more advice.

Q.What material is the ring band made of? Can I change the material to something else?
A.

We mainly use platinum (Pt950) in our jewellery pieces to enhance the brilliant sparkle of the diamonds, but 18K white, rose or yellow gold are also available if desired.
※ Please note that changing the material of the ring band is not available to certain designs.

Q.How can I take care of my ring if I wear it everyday?
A.

Scratches will always occur on a daily basis. Small scratches may become less obvious after in-store cleaning and maintenance. We would suggest to clean your ring in our stores regularly. It is also better to not wear your ring when you are doing strenuous work or sports as it may cause damage both the ring setting and diamond.

Q.Can I bring my ring home on the day I purchase?
A.

All the sample rings in our stores are for display only, you cannot bring it home on the day of purchase. It generally takes about six to eight weeks for production and thus we suggest you plan ahead and make your purchase earlier.
(Some styles or ring sizes may require an even longer time for production).

About semi-order made services

Q.What is a semi-order?
A.

I-PRIMO offers semi-order made services, where customers may choose the diamond from our diamond stock based on the budget and diamond grading, and match with their favourite ring setting to tailor-make your ideal ring.

Q.What is the basic scale of ring sizes?
A.

Generally, the basic ring size are from size 3 to size 20 for ladies and size 5 to 20 for males. We can make the smaller sizes (size 1 to size 2 for ladies and size 3 to size 4 for males) and the bigger sizes (from size 21 to size 30) as special sizes with additional charges. It may also take longer production time.
※Some designs cannot be made in special sizes, please do ask our sales consultants for more details.

Q.Is inner ring engraving service provided? How many words we can engrave?
A.

It is a free-of-charge service when you place order. The number of letters is about the ring size plus an additional 7 letters (e.g. For a size 7 ring, a maximum of 14 letters can be engraved).
※This may not apply to certain designs.

Q.Can we embed a diamond on the inner side of the ring?
A.

Yes, I-PRIMO offers a choice of eight different colours with its own meaning as “Promise Diamonds”. Promise Diamonds are small, yet special colored diamonds provided by I-PRIMO to express your love to each other.

Q.How long does it take to roughly go through the products in store?
A.

It depends on the customer. It may take you about 1.5 to 2 hours to slowly go through all designs. If you are in a hurry, please let our consultants know beforehand and they can highlight some products during your visit.

About after sales services

Q.What is included in the after sales service?
A.

Engagement Rings・Wedding Rings・Eternity Rings:
・Free size alteration for current ring is provided (applicable upon assessment on the condition of the ring by I-PRIMO).
・First time size exchange is free of charge. A service charge of S$200 will be charged from the second time onwards.
※If the new size required is out of the standard ring size scale, a special size handling charge will be applied. (Please check with our consultants for the exact cost.)

Repair Service:
・A one-year free repair period is provided. A service charge of S$100 will be charged per item repaired upon exceeding a year after purchase.
・Free repair services are provided if the melee diamonds fell out from the ring within one-year of purchase. An additional fee (quoted separately) will be charged upon exceeding a year after purchase.
・We may not be able to provide free service to some of the ring styles due to its special finishing and polishing procedures.
※This is not applicable to the center stone of engagement ring and pink melee diamonds.

Anniversary / Fashion Jewelry:
Repair service:
・A one-year free repair period is provided. Afterwards, a quotation for the charges will be provided after assessment.
・For defects and damages resulting from improper use, an additional fee will be charged at our discretion.
・The missing or damaged of certain parts could result in a situation deemed impossible to repair.

*Items purchased outside of Singapore will not be entitled for the free of charge warranty period.

Q.Does I-PRIMO provide ring size alteration service? How long does it take?
A.

Yes, we provide “size alteration service” or “size exchange service” depending on the design of your ring. It may take around 6-8 weeks to alter the ring size. As different design may require different services, please discuss with our consultants in store.

Q.Does I-PRIMO provide cleaning service? How long does it take?
A.

Generally, it takes about thirty minutes to clean your ring after you bring it to our stores. If we are busy, we may invite you to leave your ring with us for a certain period of time. This service is available at any I-PRIMO stores, no reservation is needed.

Q.Can I service my ring in any I-PRIMO stores?
A.

Yes, all I-PRIMO stores provide after sales services. Please feel free to visit the store closest to you.

Q.Can I enjoy the same after service overseas?
A.

The free of charge warranty period is only applicable to items purchased within the country. Service options and fees may vary according to country. If you required service from another country, please visit I-PRIMO official website of such country for more information.

Q.Apart from size alteration, does I-PRIMO provide other maintenance services?
A.

Our maintenance services include polishing, reshaping, refinishing, resetting or tightening prongs to secure diamond on engagement ring.

Q.How long does it take to repair a jewelry piece?
A.

It may take about six to eight weeks. Longer time may be required depending on the design.

Q.Can I repair my broken ring?
A.

We may repair or exchange for it depending on the situation. Please visit the nearest store for an assessment.

Q.Can I repair the ring if the diamond has fallen off?
A.

We may repair or exchange for it depending on the situation. Please visit the nearest store for an assessment.

Q.How can I maintain my ring at home?
A.

We suggest you use a piece of soft cloth to clean the ring after use and before storage. This helps to maintain the shininess of the jewellery from the damages caused by dirt and grease. Besides, you can also put neutral detergent in warm water and soak the ring overnight in order to remove the grease and regain shininess. Please do not rub hard on the diamond or the prongs as it may damage the ring.

Q.Can I bring the jewelry from other brands to repair at I-PRIMO?
A.

Unfortunately, we are unable to repair any products from other manufacturers and brands. Please check with the seller directly.

Q.Do I need appointment for maintenance and repair service?
A.

It is not necessary. However, in considering for the long waiting time during the peak time at store, we may be able to handle your case swiftly if you have a reservation. No reservation is needed for general cleaning service.

About payment methods

Q.What are the payment terms available?
A.

We require at least 50% of the total price as deposit once you placed the order.

Q.What can I use for payment?

Yes, you can. Please inform our consultants if you require separate receipts.

Q.Could you check if I have a metal allergy?
A.

We are sorry we do not have the technology available to check if you have a metal allergy. We suggest you consult with a dermatologist.

Q.Could you change the engagement ring setting design for me?
A.

Yes, we can change the ring setting if the ring and diamond are originally bought from I-PRIMO.

Q.Does I-PRIMO sell fashion jewellery as well?
A.

Yes, we do. We offer necklaces, earrings, baby rings, bracelets and fashion rings. They can be purchased as a gift for special occasions such as wedding anniversary and baby shower, etc.

Q.Does I-PRIMO sell gemstones other than diamond?
A.

I-PRIMO is a diamond specialty shop and we have diamond jewelries only. For other jewellery, we also offer pearls.

Q.Do we need to make an appointment before visiting the store?
A.

Reservations are not always necessary, however, it can be very busy on weekends depending on the time of day, so please make a reservation in advance to ensure a smooth visit. It is recommended to reserve your timeslot to ensure better service. Please click

Q.Can I pick up the purchased item at an overseas branch?
A.

Unfortunately, we do only offer pick up services for purchases made in Singapore.
